Overview

Young Art Taipei (YAT) is Asia’s first hotel-style contemporary art fair dedicated to artists under the age of 45. Held annually in May, YAT has become an important platform for discovering the next rising stars of the Asian contemporary art market.

The inaugural YAT debuted in 2009 in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. With a high-quality service team and intimate, refined exhibition spaces, the fair brought together Taiwan’s rich collecting resources and attracted 42 international galleries from Taiwan, China, Japan, and South Korea, achieving outstanding sales results. In 2010, the fair expanded to 57 participating galleries, including exhibitors from Spain, breaking the regional boundaries of Asian hotel-style art fairs. Through extensive promotional programs such as the Young Art Award and the Affordable Art – Collector Entry Program, total sales exceeded 395 artworks.

Young Art Taipei aims externally to serve as a window into the development of Taiwanese contemporary art, while internally providing Taiwanese collectors and audiences with access to the creative energy of emerging international artists. Rather than focusing solely on record-breaking auction prices or annual sales figures, YAT emphasizes the spirit of a “young, dynamic, and accessible” hotel-style art fair—returning the focus to art itself and fostering a healthier art market ecosystem.

During the fourth edition of YAT in 2012, the fair set a goal of inviting 60 high-quality galleries, presenting artists of diverse backgrounds and nationalities. It sought to offer galleries, curators, artists, collectors, and visitors an elegant and refined platform for contemporary art exchange.

Han Art Agency participated in this edition of the Taipei International Contemporary Art Fair, presenting works by five artists—Usa Tanaka, Yasuko Hayashi, Roman Nogin, Natasha Perekhodenko, and Alexander Serdyuk—with a total of 22 artworks on view. Han Art’s booth was Room 968, and all art lovers were warmly invited to visit.
